Big words like Meningioma, Gliomas, Medulloblastoma, and Astrocytomas just to name a few are fancy words for brain tumors. Seems worse when it's kids and brain tumors. It's estimated that more than 4,800 children and adolescents between the ages of 0-19 will be diagnosed with a primary brain tumor this year and it is the most common cancer occurring of those ages between 0-14.
We know a family with a child dealing with a brain tumor so I asked that Mom for suggestions on organizations out there really helping families. She should know, right? The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is on her list so this months Art Walk donation will be made to them. For more information please visit their site www.curethekids.org.
